Stop Hooking My Golf Shots

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

One of the questions that golfers ask themselves is, “How can I stop hooking my golf shots?” A lot of amateur receive bad advice about what causes a hook or a slice. One of the best ways that a golfer can stop asking himself, “How do I stop hooking my golf shots,” is to know what causes certain ball flights.

Contrary to popular belief, it’s not the club path from in to out that causes a hook. Rather, it is a closed club face. If the face of the club is pointed to the left, the ball is going to start left no matter the swing path. To stop hooking the ball, you have to make sure that your club face is square or open relative to the club path.

Finding a Great Golf Ebook

Thursday, June 24th, 2010

There’s no shortage of golf “advice” out there, and to be sure, it’s not always easy to determine if a book or resource will actually help your game.

One of the best, and fastest ways to get information is by going online and finding a good golf ebook, which is an electronically delivered copy that you can download immediately.

Not only do you get the benefit of seeing the new golf tips right away, but you also can point others to the book if it’s helpful.

There are some things to look for when browsing for a golf ebook, including if the site has known golf pros endorsing the product, or video proof showing how the techniques work.

Seeking Golf Help

Monday, May 10th, 2010

Proper golf help is critical for the novice golfer. It helps to establish good habits that will serve you well as you make the journey from the novice to experienced player. However, when first starting out, it can be difficult to know where to turn for golf help. For starters, don’t assume that advice from friends is good advice just because they golf better than you do. I golfed well for several years with some bad habits ingrained in my game. If you can afford it, start seeking golf help from a golf pro through lessons. The pro is also an excellent resource that you can use to filter all other the information that you come by through friends, books, videos, etc.

Great Golf Instruction Books

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

Great golf instruction books can do wonders for any player. The trick is finding a compatible author who offers advice and tips that are appropriate for individual readers. Obviously, women get better results from tips provided by female instructors. Less obvious, men get better results from male instructors who have a similar body type.

Over years of practice, instructors tend to develop a swing that is suited to their personal physique. Quite naturally, instructors then assume that the best way to strike a ball is by using the technique that produces their best personal results. These personal biases slip into golf instruction books unintentionally.

Look for a photograph of the author when browsing golf instruction books. If the author is tall and slim like you, the book may contain your personal secret for lower lifetime scoring.

Golf Tips

Tuesday, January 19th, 2010

Most golfers are always looking for golf tips and advice to help them improve their game. Golf is something that usually takes time to master. Many golf resorts and golf courses offer lessons to help you improve your game. Many try to incorporate this into their vacations and days off from work.

Golf tips can be found everywhere but the most important one is how you stand. If your stance is good, then you should be able to hit a decent shot. Remember to keep your right knee flexed. Do not tighten up or keep it locked in one position. Another golf tip is to put the golf ball directly under the logo on your golf shirt or just under your left shoulder.
