Be Wary of Free Golf Tips

Monday, September 27th, 2010

Be wary of free golf tips. I cannot stress this warning enough to new players. I was like them once. I was new to the game, trying to soak up as must knowledge as possible, and I didn’t have a lot of disposable income. In-person instruction was out of the question, and I relied mostly on free golf tips online.

The problem with that is that there’s a great deal of misinformation online. In many cases, the tips are technically correct, but they might be less useful out of context or they might require some individual tailoring. What I ended up doing was adding some improper techniques to my swing that became bad habits. As my game became more refined, those bad habits were the hardest flaw to overcome because I had worked so hard at implementing them.

Golf Swing Analysis

Monday, August 16th, 2010

One of the best things you can do if you want to improve your golf game is to get a golf swing analysis. A PGA Professional Instructor can help you correct any problems with your swing by breaking it down to all of its parts and seeing where your swing has gone wrong. They often will take a video of your swing and be able to use it to show you exactly what you are doing wrong. When you actually see, in slow motion, what you are doing, it is much easier to understand the flaw or flaws in your swing. It may be simply a matter of turning your shoulder a little more or it may be your backswing is at the wrong angle. A good golf swing analysis will get you back on the right track.
