Choosing the Right Seniors’ Golf Instruction
Wednesday, September 8th, 2010Many golfers set out to buy seniors’ golf instruction for their parents as a birthday or Christmas gift without any real idea what they’re looking for. There are differences in seniors’ golf instruction because senior golfers have different needs. Don’t settle for a class that has no distinction other than being for members 55 and older.
There’s nothing wrong with a group setting. However, you want an instructor who understands the physical limitations of their players and who fashions the lesson accordingly. I also think it’s important for the instructor to have at least basic first aid response training. After checking the credentials, ask if you can watch a lesson. Most courses/instructors will allow this, and be wary of the one’s who don’t. If you stay until the end, speak to some of the participants about their experiences with the class.
A perfect gift for the golfer in your life
Friday, April 2nd, 2010So you are looking for the right gift for the golf lover in your life, but you can’t quite figure out what it is. You have bought them a new putter and just last year, you bought them a nice book of the world’s most awesome courses. This is when buying solid golf instruction books comes in handy. You might think that this is a little bit boring, but know that golfers live for this sort of thing.
Golfers want to get better and golf instruction books provide that. They might provide the little tip here or there that can turn that golfer from an average player to a good player. One little thing can shave stokes off of a handicap, which is an exciting idea for hardcore golf players.
golf video
Thursday, March 4th, 2010Not long ago, I received a golf video the claimed it would be able to change my game. Being an avid golfer, and having received it as a gift from my wife, I watched in hopes of learning something – if even a portion of the golf video’s claims were true, I would benefit. What I quickly discovered was that in terms of general knowledge, the video was very helpful. I picked up several strategic pointers on how to approach my overall game – things like when be aggressive and ways to shave strokes. In terms of swing attributes, however, the video was too general. Its one-size-fits-all approach did not fit into any of issues I have had. In general, while the video was helpful, a private lesson is far more valuable.
