Form A Group To Stay Golf Motivated

Wednesday, October 26th, 2011

One of the best and most overlooked ways to improve your golf game is to rent or buy a golf lesson DVD. Watching these golf DVDs can go a long way. Not only can you stop and rewind, but you can also practice along in your living room. This helps a lot more than you might expect.

Another good tactic in regards to effectiveness and motivation is to form a golf lesson DVD club. This might sound crazy, but it’s a reality. There are many golfers out there who know that it’s better to work as a group to stay motivated. Also, when a group of people get together to watch a golf lesson DVD, everyone has an opportunity to talk about the lesson. This leads to a lot of learning from one another.

The Best Times For A Golf Lesson

Wednesday, August 3rd, 2011

Why would you want to take a private golf lesson? The answer is pretty obvious ” you’re not a superb golfer. That’s okay. You’re just like 99% of all the other golfers in the world. This also means that it’s possible you don’t want other golfers watching your lesson. You might not fall into this category, but most people are self-conscious when they’re not highly skilled at something. The solution here is simple, which is to set up your private golf lessons at odd times. This will allow you to be alone with the instructor with no one else watching. If you swing and miss, so what. Try to fit a golf lesson in during your lunch break. If that doesn’t work, consider setting up a private golf lesson early in the morning or right before the pro shop closes.

How You Can Benefit From A Golf Book Review

Friday, June 10th, 2011

Most golfers don’t understand the benefits of a golf book review. When you browse golf books online and read the reviews, you’re not just learning about the book, but the game of golf itself. You have to realize that the conversations that stem from a golf book review are always golf oriented. Since everyone enjoys being a teacher, you will find a lot of technical and strategic information in these reviews.

Another benefit to a golf book review is that you can stimulate a conversation by leaving a comment. Not only can you stimulate a conversation, but you can gear the conversation in any direction you please because you’re the one leaving the comment. It’s recommended that you gear the conversation toward your biggest weakness. You are guaranteed to receive at lease some quality feedback.

Instruction on How to Break 90

Tuesday, May 24th, 2011

Millions of golfers want to break 90. This is a great goal to have as well as a stepping stone to another level. However, it usually requires a lot of time and money because of golf lessons. If you want a better way to receive instruction on how to break 90, pay careful attention to the following. Instead of taking golf lessons that have a set fee, offer the golf pro a deal. This deal will pertain to performance rewards, which you can set on your own. If they can get you to break 90 by a certain date, they will be rewarded handsomely. Most golf pros will take this deal because they’re competitive people who enjoy a challenge and they want to see how effective they are as a teacher.

Golf Short Game

Friday, February 25th, 2011

The short game in golf can pertain to a few different things. In this case, we will focus on sand shots. If you’re like most golfers, you despise being stuck in the sand. It’s a good way to turn a good round into a disaster. The best way to approach the sand is to be fearless. If you’re fearful and you hit the ball as though you’re fearful, you will never get better at getting out of the sand. Always go long first. For example, hit the ball with authority and allow the ball to travel over the green. This might be painful in the beginning, but as long as you can get the ball out, you can then learn how to decrease the distance of your shots. If you approach these shots with fear and swing timidly, you will never get out of the sand.

Golf Swing Plane

Friday, February 4th, 2011

So many golfers underestimate the importance of the golf swing plane. By underestimating its importance, many people make the error of hitting wild shots off to the right. This is not to say they are slicing the ball necessarily; these shots don’t even deserve the title of a slice. They are the ugliest golf shots one can imagine and they need to be eliminated from your game. The best way to do this and to improve your golf swing plane is to move your body farther away from the ball. Another good tip when it comes to improving your golf swing plane is to keep your weight on your heels. Everything really ties together in golf, so there is no real starting point. But if you can master one tip at a time, you will slowly begin to see yourself improve.

natural golf swing

Tuesday, December 21st, 2010

One of the most frequently played sports in the world is the sport of golf. While golf can be a great activity when played well, it can be very frustrating when not played well. For those that struggle at golf, one of the most difficult things is to maintain a natural golf swing.

Most golfers who are new to the sport tend to try and hit the ball as hard as possible. While it may seem that this technique would lead to far and powerful shots, it actually tends to make a person hit the ball inaccurately and out of bounds. To ensure that you get good distance, and stay on the fairway, you need to have a natural golf swing. To have a natural swing you need to try and swing softly while having good control of the club.

Beginner Golf Tips

Friday, November 12th, 2010

Golf is a wonderful game, a great way to get exercise, and a frustrating sport for beginners. However, with just a few beginner golf tips, one can enjoy the game and have a fun on the links.

The first golf tip for beginners is to relax. Don’t try to knock the ball 400 yards; take your time and relax your swing. Strength doesn’t matter in golf nearly as much as mechanics. That leads to the second beginner golf tip: take a few lessons. Practicing technique will greatly enhance your experience on the course, and it never hurts to get tips from a pro. Third, practice your short game. While it’s gratifying to complete a long drive, most golf games are won and lost on the grin, so practice your chipping and putting. Perhaps the most important tip for beginning golfers, though, is to have fun and enjoy the game.

Essential Golf Grip Tips

Wednesday, October 13th, 2010

Golfers who want to improve their game’s consistency need to look at the interface between their body and the golf club: the grip. Holding the club incorrectly can undermine a golfer’s technique by throwing off the body/club connection. Here are some essential golf grip tips to help you improve:

-1- Make sure the club rests in your fingers, not your palms. Your fingers can help you deliver more power and give you more feel for the ball.

-2- Hold the club with ‘soft hands.’ Imagine you are holding a tube of toothpaste – you want to hold it firmly, but so firm that you squeeze the toothpaste everywhere.

-3- Experiment with the three different grips: the overlap, interlock, and 10-finger grip. Each grip type is appropriate for different hand sizes and playing styles, so find the one that works best for you.

You can teach yourself a lot about golf, but you need a good foundation.

Wednesday, September 22nd, 2010

I’ve taken a few golf swing lessons over the years, and they really helped my game, but for the most part, I’ve been self-taught. I think it’s good to get a mix of formal training, and self-instruction. Some golfers really need some personal tutoring to get started, but if you buy a few books, I think it’s possible to learn a lot about the game on your own.

I recently gave some golf swing lessons to a friend of mine, and I think they’ve really helped him out. Now that he has a solid foundation, he can probably teach himself everything else he needs to know.
