Master Your Golf Swing In 3 Days

Tuesday, December 13th, 2011

Taking a golf lesson is beneficial for a golfer at any skill level. That cannot be argued, especially if the golf lesson is taken with a PGA pro. However, there are a few ways you can take a golf pro lesson to another level. One such way is to sign-up for a 3-day golf program. The reason a 3-day golf program is so effective is because a PGA golf pro will have enough time to fix all of the errors you’re making. There is only so much a PGA golf pro can do in a traditional one-hour lesson.

Sticking with the traditional golf pro lesson is better than nothing, but it can take years to fix all the errors in your swing. It’s a much better idea to fix all of your errors within 3 days. It will save you time, money and stress.

The Importance of Putting

Monday, January 31st, 2011

Do you play golf? If so, how many times per month would you say you visit the driving range? I have no idea what that number would be, but I do know that it’s likely a much higher number than the amount of times you visit the putting green. This is wrong. I know that sounds simple, but sometimes the simplest comments hold the most power. If you want to improve your golf game, you need to forget about the long game for a minute and focus on putting. The key to successful putting can be summed up very easily: keep your eyes over the ball. A lot of people don’t do this. Their eyes are in the wrong position. Remember the importance of putting and keep your eyes over the ball at all times. You will reduce your score.

The Importance of Golf Swing Tempo

Friday, October 1st, 2010

When practicing any skill, the key is to execute the skill consistently. This is true of the golf swing. A consistent, smooth golf swing tempo will ensure regularity in driving power and accuracy.

One way to improve golf swing tempo is to pay attention to your balance. If you begin or end your shot off balance, your rhythm will suffer and you’ll have no idea where the ball will end up.

Your body weight distribution will change as the swing proceeds. Before the shot, your weight should be balanced evenly on each foot. During the back swing, 75% of your weight should be on the back foot. At the completion of the shot, 90% of your weight should be on your front foot. The transition between these stages should be smooth and effortless.

Choosing the Right Seniors’ Golf Instruction

Wednesday, September 8th, 2010

Many golfers set out to buy seniors’ golf instruction for their parents as a birthday or Christmas gift without any real idea what they’re looking for. There are differences in seniors’ golf instruction because senior golfers have different needs. Don’t settle for a class that has no distinction other than being for members 55 and older.

There’s nothing wrong with a group setting. However, you want an instructor who understands the physical limitations of their players and who fashions the lesson accordingly. I also think it’s important for the instructor to have at least basic first aid response training. After checking the credentials, ask if you can watch a lesson. Most courses/instructors will allow this, and be wary of the one’s who don’t. If you stay until the end, speak to some of the participants about their experiences with the class.

The Beauty of Online Golf Lessons

Thursday, September 2nd, 2010

If you’re anything like me, then you first met the notion of online golf lessons with healthy skepticism. I thought the whole idea seemed ridiculous to be frank, and I wouldn’t have tried it had the wife not purchased me a subscription for my birthday. For her, I gave it the old college try, and now I?m extremely glad that I did.

For what is a nominal fee compared to live lessons, online golf lessons give me 24/7 chat access to a golf pro along with regular video analysis. The video analysis of my swing is as good as anything I have received from in-person instruction. And the chat is enough to answer most of my questions. Perhaps the coolest thing is that I can access the pro right from my phone while on the course.

What happens in a golf lesson…

Monday, August 9th, 2010

For some folks. the idea of getting a professional golf lesson is very appealing. They have heard stories from friends about the improvements made. and they want to see what all the fuss is about. But what can you expect to learn in a professional golf lesson… That will be dependent upon the specific pro that you go to. but most will handle the lesson basically the same way.

While in a golf lesson. you will take a few swings for the pro. From there. he will take either a technological approach or a basic one to fixing your swing. If you have easy to see problems. he will provide you with new techniques and drills to test them. If your problems are more complicated. he may use video analysis to help you make improvements.

What do teaching pros really provide?

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010

Is getting lessons from a certified PGA teaching pro really a good idea? Do those guys really know what they are doing? The answer is yes, because PGA golf instruction is something that will be hard to replicate no matter where else you look. Though there are certainly ways to get better on your own, PGA golf instruction will give you the foundation that you need to make marked improvements in your game over the long run.

The best thing about PGA golf instruction is that you are getting personalized instruction. The pro can look at what you are doing wrong and he can set you up on a plan to correct that. Improving will ultimately fall on your shoulders, but the pro will be able to set your path straight and get you going.
