Creating the perfect Golf Swing
Friday, June 4th, 2010When seeking instructions on how to improve your golf swing, there is one thing that you should remember: balance. Balance is the key to a good golf swing, from the initial address of the ball to the follow through. Many people associate a golf swing with that of a baseball swing. Although there are certain similarities, approaching any golf instruction with that in mind will typically lead to inconsistency. A good golf instructor will analyze your natural swing, and make slight adjustments to it to maximize your distance and accuracy. If you try to completely overhaul your natural golf swing, you will most likely be uncomfortable, and therefore inconsistent, when trying to create your perfect golf swing.
The Drive
Thursday, November 12th, 2009If you play golf, then you know that nearly everyone wants to show off their drive. Of course, the key to cutting strokes is the short game, but that doesn’t take away the importance of your first shot. There are some golf driving tips that should be considered every time you tee up.
The first thing you need to remember is that if you grip the club as though you want to kill it, you won’t hit the ball very well. You will be decreasing your clubhead speed, and clubhead speed is the key to distance. Use a relaxed grip and swing as though you’re swinging a high iron. Your swing should also be long and slow, pretty much the opposite of what a baseball swing would be like.
