Golf Equals Competitive Family Fun
Thursday, September 24th, 2009Since I was five years old, I can remember hitting the links with my family. It was our typical to-do on Saturday morning, always at 9 O’clock sharp. My dad always liked starting at nine; because the first nine holes faced the west, and the last nine holes face the east, teeing off at 9 in the morning always kept the sun out of our eyes. My dad was a little corky like that, and always had some odd traditions he kept too religiously.
We always had so much fun playing together, my brother, mom, dad, and I. We always switched cart partners every weekend, so we would spend time with each other every third weekend. Now that I don’t live with those three anymore, I really miss those weekends on the
golf course. Golf gave us a great chance to keep in touch, and made my family ties stronger.
