Odd Advice For An Odd Game
Monday, August 1st, 2011The advice you’re about to receive for professional golf instruction will be the most out-of-the-ordinary advice you have ever read. Remember to keep in mind that this approach is highly effective.
If you want to truly maximize your professional golf instruction, you need to go home after a lesson, set up your video camera, grad a golf club and become the instructor. As crazy as this might sound, when you make newly learned information auditory, you are greatly increasing the odds of retaining that information. The only way to guarantee that you will take this approach is to act as the instructor. An added benefit is that you will have an opportunity to replay the video numerous times in order to see any flaws you might have in your swing.
Full Swing Instruction
Tuesday, April 26th, 2011If you’re looking for help with your golf swing, the first thing you need to do is take a golf lesson. If you happen to live in a cold-weather state, which can be anywhere these days, don’t be discouraged. It’s still possible to receive full swing instruction in the cold weather. One option is to take a golf lesson at a heated driving range. Another option is to take a lesson indoors, which is really neat because some places have machines that can monitor and offer feedback on your swing. The pro giving the lesson will act as a guide. Think of him or her as someone who is helping you study for your next test. Your first goal should be to improve your swing evaluation. Your next goal should be to improve your score on the golf course.
Golf Swing Tips
Thursday, March 17th, 2011What is the most important aspect of golf? There are so many answers to this question that we can literally write a book about it. All it would take is two dozen answers with subsections for instructions. But we’re not going to write a book. In this case, we’re going to say that most people associate the most important aspect of golf with the short game. Some people will even say it’s the driver. That’s great, but what about the irons? In most cases, you need to cover the most ground with your irons. Therefore, they are incredibly important. The next time you’re in search of some golf swing tips, focus your research on irons. You will find the key concept to be balance, but there is plenty more to learn. If you can master your irons, you can master the fairways and more.
Golf Swing Tips
Thursday, March 3rd, 2011Being stuck in a sand trap in golf is about as much fun as being stuck in a sand dune near the beach with your brand new Ferrari. It’s frustrating and something you want to avoid. However, being stuck in the sand is a reality that cannot be avoided when you choose to brave the fairways and greens. The best golf swing tips for being stuck in the sand are easy to remember. The first tip is to pretend that the bottom half of your body is a statue. Less movement on the bottom half leads to more success on the top half. Also be sure to choke down on the club. Just as the case in baseball, this will give you a lot more control. And one of the more unique golf swing tips for when you’re trapped in the sand is to use a wood opposed to an iron.
Golf Short Game
Friday, February 25th, 2011The short game in golf can pertain to a few different things. In this case, we will focus on sand shots. If you’re like most golfers, you despise being stuck in the sand. It’s a good way to turn a good round into a disaster. The best way to approach the sand is to be fearless. If you’re fearful and you hit the ball as though you’re fearful, you will never get better at getting out of the sand. Always go long first. For example, hit the ball with authority and allow the ball to travel over the green. This might be painful in the beginning, but as long as you can get the ball out, you can then learn how to decrease the distance of your shots. If you approach these shots with fear and swing timidly, you will never get out of the sand.
Golf Swing Plane
Friday, February 4th, 2011So many golfers underestimate the importance of the golf swing plane. By underestimating its importance, many people make the error of hitting wild shots off to the right. This is not to say they are slicing the ball necessarily; these shots don’t even deserve the title of a slice. They are the ugliest golf shots one can imagine and they need to be eliminated from your game. The best way to do this and to improve your golf swing plane is to move your body farther away from the ball. Another good tip when it comes to improving your golf swing plane is to keep your weight on your heels. Everything really ties together in golf, so there is no real starting point. But if you can master one tip at a time, you will slowly begin to see yourself improve.
The Golf Swing Plane
Wednesday, January 26th, 2011“Yuck!” That’s what my wife said when I brought up the topic of a golf swing plane. This is a topic that not many people want to talk about. They don’t want to talk about it because it’s somewhat scientific. And when something is scientific people tend to think about boring 40-minute classes in 8th grade and assignments they could never understand. But when it comes to golf, it’s more about math than science. Okay, so some people don’t like math, either. That being the case, I’ll keep it as elementary as possible. If you’re too anxious to hit the ball while swinging the club, it will be impossible to come through the zone on the right golf swing plane. Instead of getting into math and science, let’s just say that you should begin getting excited at contact. If only 8th grade science were that simple.
Improving Your Swing
Friday, January 7th, 2011A golf swing lesson may be just what you need to improve your swing and to improve, as a result, your overall game. There are very intricate things to consider when swinging a golf club on the course — it is not all about sheer power and driving the ball as far as you can. Taking a golf swing lesson will help you improve every aspect of your swing, from the way that you place your feet to the way that you rotate your hips as you bring the club around. Knowing the proper form for a swing will help you to drive the ball farther than you ever have, and to drop it in closer to the hole than you have found yourself able to do in the past.
