Chicken Soup for the Soul
Wednesday, August 25th, 2010Chicken Soup for the Soul is a brand of inspirational books that center on real-life stories. They always sounded nice enough, but not exactly my cup of tea, and so I had never read one. Then, recently I was looking for a new subject for a golf book review. That’s when, to my surprise, I found Chicken Soup for the Soul: The Golf Book. Here’s my take in a brief golf book review.
I didn’t know what to expect from an inspirational golf book, but if I expected anything, this wasn’t it. This was a series of short, personal stories categorized in ten sections. The stories range from 250 to 1,000 words, with the longer stories being the exception. This makes it easy to fit into a busy schedule, and the material was much more meaningful than self-help rhetoric.
